Inkberry Studio specializes in botanical and technical illustrations, as well as branding and graphic design for print and web. Tarja Barton is the creative who runs Inkberry Studio, she studied Scientific and Technical Illustration at Sheridan College and Botanical Illustration at Cornell University.Tarja is a member of the Southern Ontario Nature and Science Illustrators (SONSI) and illustrates under the name Tarja K. Kuronen. One of her favorite commissioned illustrations is the Kingfisher with prey, which was published in Finland in the Swedish-language publication Åbo Underrättelser and is currently part of a private collection in Helsinki, Finland. All her projects begin with research, preliminary sketches and collaboration with the client. She believes in creating quality and well thought out work, and it shows in her creative. Illustration

Tarja Barton creates illustrations traditionally with acrylics, watercolour, pen & ink and graphite, as well as digitally using Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator. Her subject matter includes still life, portraits and botanical illustrations to name a few. Graphic Design

Tarja’s studies at Sheridan College and Cornell University along with her subsequent work experience, has given her a special mix of expertise. It allows her to take the initial concept through the creative process and into production and printing with effective results. She designs for both print and web applications and her portfolio includes technical and botanical illustrations, maps, brochures, business cards, invitations, event tickets, ads and magazine layouts. Photography

Along with her skills as a graphic designer and an illustrator, Tarja’s passion for photography brings another element to her artistic diversity. She loves to travel and capture photographs that convey beauty, colour and pattern. Very often her photographs provide creative ideas and reference for future paintings and illustrations.
